MINI owners in Grand Rapids regularly ask us what their specific model needs and when. The answer varies between a standard Cooper, a Countryman, a JCW, and the Countryman SE electric. Here is the complete factory-specified maintenance schedule for each.
Oil Service. MINI’s Condition Based Service (CBS) system calculates your oil change interval based on how you actually drive. Most MINI Cooper models reach the CBS indicator between 7,500 and 10,000 miles under normal conditions. Cold Grand Rapids winters move that number faster. Spark Plugs. 40,000 to 60,000 miles depending on engine variant. JCW engines may warrant earlier replacement under sustained performance use.
Cabin Air Filter. Every two years or CBS-indicated.
Air Filter. Every 30,000 to 40,000 miles depending on driving conditions.

Countryman ALL4 AWD models have a rear differential requiring fluid inspection at 60,000 miles. Countryman PHEV models add high-voltage battery cooling system inspection and 12V auxiliary battery inspection. Let our advisors know your Countryman’s specific variant when you schedule.
JCW models share the base Cooper service schedule but reach their oil CBS indicator more quickly under performance driving. JCW brake components require more frequent inspection because the higher-friction compounds wear faster under the same conditions.
